How do I use DOM magnetic dip powder with gel liquids?
DIP-O-MANIA GEL LIQUIDS & MAGNETIC DIP POWDER INSTRUCTIONS
**The following steps are applicable to and have only been tested using Dipomania Gel Liquids and Dipomania magnetic dip powders.
STEP 1
Start with your chosen solid base. This can be:
- Any color gel polish (fully cured)
- Any color Dip powder or the magnetic dip itself with dip liquids (do not activate)
- Any color Dip powder using gel liquids (fully cured)
*Maniac Master Tip: We find that a solid black base creates the most intense mag result, if that’s your goal.
STEP 2
Using a nail art palette (or any non-porous surface such as glass/acrylic OR a disposable plate, etc.), pour a small amount of base or blossom gel liquid onto the palette (no larger than dime-sized). Sprinkle a pinch of the magnetic dip powder into the gel liquid and use a gel brush (disposable recommended) to mix the powder completely into the liquid. Ideally, the mix should be as thin as possible, but still have enough color to show up. If the mix is too thick, the magnetic particles cannot travel and will not react once the magnet is applied.
*Maniac Master Tip: Always start with less dip powder than you think you need- it’s easier and more cost-effective to slowly add more sprinkles of powder to the palette than to add more liquid.
STEP 3
Hold magnet position for 15-20 seconds to achieve magnetic design of your choice. You can manipulate and change the design as much as you’d like before curing.
*Maniac Master Tip: The magnets in the standalone and cat eye wand can be removed for more control over the design.
STEP 4
Once you are happy with your design, immediately put the nail into a UV/LED lamp to fully cure according to your gel liquid instructions.
STEP 5
Apply gel top coat and fully cure.
*Maniac Master Tip: Apply one of Dipomania’s nourishing Skinsanity Cuticle Elixirs to restore moisture and prolong your manicure.
Enjoy your new magnetic dip powder design!
How do I use DOM magnetic dip powder with dip liquids?
DIP-O-MANIA DIP LIQUIDS & MAGNETIC DIP POWDER INSTRUCTIONS
The following steps are applicable to and have only been tested using Dipomania Dip Liquids and Dipomania magnetic dip powders.
*Maniac Master Tip: Magnetic art is typically done over a base layer of a solid color dip powder or gel polish. A solid black base creates the most intense mag result.
STEP 1
Start with your chosen solid base. Brush off any additional dip powder and do not activate or top-coat.
*Maniac Master Tip: Have your activator prepped prior to starting each nail by suctioning it into the dropper or pipette and setting it upside down in a small cup close by.
STEP 2
Apply a thin even layer of Dipomania Base Coat. Lightly sprinkle over the magnetic dip powder, covering the entire nail surface.
STEP 3
Using a disposable nail polish brush, float a generous layer of base coat over the entire nail surface with very little pressure, as not to disrupt the layer of magnetic powder.
*Maniac Master Tip: The magnets in the standalone and cat eye wand can be removed for more control over the design.
STEP 4
Position the magnet to achieve the desired effect while the nail is still wet.
STEP 5
Drop 1-2 drops of activator evenly over the nail surface.
*Maniac Master Tip: Too much activator can cause patchiness, uneven nail surface, and/or harden the top coat brush in the final step if over-applied.
STEP 6
IMMEDIATELY place the magnet back into desired position and hold until all particle movement has stopped, and the design is set in place.
PRODUCT FAQs
What is the difference between the sample size and the .25 oz jar?
Dip powder jars are filled by volume (not weight) to the very top *
*Samples may either come in the smallest (5 gram) jars filled to the top (typically little more than 1 teaspoon) OR they may come as 1 teaspoon measured out in a .25 oz / 7 gram jar.
Please note: powders typically settle over time and during shipping, however WE PACK AND FILL our jars VERY FULL! You may find that when pouring the powder back into any jar it may barely fit or overflow even! Tap bottom of jars gently on hard surface while pouring powder back in to allow powder to pack in and settle to facilitate this process so all the dip powder fits.
